Tim S. Murphy - Digital Stereograms

This body of work contains a series of stereoscopic self-portraits that were created in 2009 as a response to the death of my father. In his passing my father had generously donated as much of his organs and tissues that could be useful to help others live. I began scanning and digitizing my own skin and eyes in an exploration of his gift and my own mortality and identity. Some of my results are in this collection of work.

Viewing These Digital Stereograms: It is best to view at a comfortable distance, squarely in front of the two images, with your eyes horizontal, parallel with the frame of the images. Cross your eyes so that the two independent images fall and click together as one. When the two images become one you should see the single image and be able to wander freely around in that space and experience a greater visual energy than before.
